COURSE OVERVIEW
If you have an analytical mind and are detail orientated, this course will interest you. Instrumentation is about measurement and control and light current includes fields such as industrial and digital electronics. You will enjoy learning about designing, researching and testing electronic equipment and apply your mind to analyzing problems and producing innovative solutions in appliances and installations that use electrical energy.

Entrance Requirements
N3
- N2 Certificate, or
- A National Senior Certificate with Mathematics/Technical Mathematics or Physical Science/Technical Science.
N4
- N3 Certificate, or
- A National Senior Certificate with 40% in Mathematics/Technical Mathematics or Physical Science/Technical Science.
Certification
Learners will receive the following at each level:
- National Certificate N3, N4, N5, N6
- National N Diploma in Instrumentation on completion of N4-N6 (12 subjects) and 24-months of in-service training.
The National N Diploma includes two (2) years of theory and 24-months of in-service training.
All examinations are set and administered by the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET). The National N Diploma is issued by the DHET.

Academic Development Officer (ADO)
Students are supported by a team of Academic Development Officers (ADOs), who are available throughout the journey of your course. ADOs are not lecturers, but support academics, who are qualified in the relevant subject matter, and will guide you on all academic matters.
Extra Classes
You may attend Saturday classes for extra support. All support classes are free.

Online Centre for Student Relations
An academic and customer care adviser will be allocated to you to provide additional online support while you complete your studies. This service is free.
